role
As the Team Lead, you’ll be responsible for the overall performance of the web development team. There are several exciting projects on the go. A lot of the businesses that sit within the umbrella company have websites that are a bit dated, and you will work with the senior leadership team to improve their functionality and appearance. One website in particular has a huge amount of traffic from both within NZ and overseas, and it needs a complete overhaul. So, you’ll be busy overseeing multiple projects, as well as managing your team and ensuring their best technical work.
- Lead the web development team.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders – ideally, in laymen’s terms that they can understand.
- Oversee the team and help them deliver multiple web projects.
- Work with modern JavaScript libraries and frameworks.
- Use Web APIs to collect data (Internal and public RESTful Web APIs).
about you
You'll need proven experience in web development and API integrations, ideally in a client-facing role, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in REST, GraphQL, and SOAP, as well as experience with database systems like MySQL, HTML/CSS, and modern JavaScript and TypeScript, is required. Additionally, you’ll have a passion for the digital space and staying up to date with the latest technologies and trends within the industry.
- 5+ years of experience as a Developer with PHP
- Highly beneficial if your experience in web development has been in New Zealand OR for a NZ-based company.
- Experience with Grit and modern JavaScript and Typescript libraries and frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Website frontend UI HTML, CSS, JavaScript experience.
